We called 2010 Mercedes AMG SLS eDrive when we talk of a power SLS wing doors last year. Although to be fair, that what is called Mercedes, when they gave us some details and confirmed they were working on building an electric version of SLS. But now it seems 2010 Mercedes SLS AMG E-Cell has SLS Prototype. Different name - same thing.

Fittingly, - a week of Wimbledon - begins the first prototypes of 2010 SLS AMG E-Cell is a beautiful yellow tennis ball and is - as expected - Powered by an electric motor at each corner. Electric motors produce a total of 526bhp and 649lb/ft of torque, which should lead to 00-60 miles per hour from about 4 seconds.

It is interesting that the installation of a motor at each wheel has to be Mercedes means rethinking the front suspension. There was not room enough for the engine and double wishbone suspension of regular SLS, so this Mercedes SLS receives electric-shock multilink setup push-rod.

Other changes - apart from the adaptation of electric motors and the Bank of lithium polymer batteries homes in the central tunnel and a field behind the cabin - including an extendable front splitter, which designed a new rear diffuser to the work available to the rear plus the SLS standard output, thanks in part to the lack of an exhaust system. Gets the cell interior SLS-E, 10 "touchscreen in the center console that shows the flow of energy from the four engines and information / communication standard.

Interesting concept, but never more than a short-term to show novelty item, what can be done with a BEV car. Apparently, this first prototype actually moves, we can probably expect to start appearing in car shows in the coming months.
The strike in yellow Slazenger tennis ball, it's hard to miss.
