The Toyota RSC (Rugged Sport Coupe) was designed by CALTY Design Research, Toyota's North American Design Center based in Newport Beach, California, and first shown at the 2001 Chicago Auto Show.
The RSC was developed to test the waters regarding a next-generation sports car aimed at the adventurous younger buyer.
The RSC's designers were given a great amount of freedom during the project, with a pretty open brief and no designated platform or drivetrain to adhere to. The RSC was a true concept car.
