Meanwhile, Mazda’s all-new 5 small MPV starts at £17,695, rising to £21,495 for the range-topping 1.6D Sport. All engines are Euro5 compliant and are mated to a slick 6 speed manual transmission.

The range-topping Sport grade starts at £20,195 for the 2.0 litre and rises to £21,495 for the 1.6D. Sport grade includes 17” alloy wheels, electric sliding side doors, rear spoiler, side skirts, front fog lights, tyre pressure monitoring system and leather interior w/heated front seats.

The CX-7 is not a huge SUV, but occupants are well catered for and will find sufficient space for a family of five and their luggage. The front seats offer good support and range of adjustment, and the overall impression of the interior is one of quality. The world's most popular roadster model ever, the Mazda MX-5 (also known as Roadster in Japan and Miata in North America), is celebrating yet another milestone in its enviable history as total production reached 900,000 units on February 4, 2011. Targeting better fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions, Mazda has announced that the European market Mazda5 minivan is now available with a new 1.6-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine, which replaces the previous 2.0-liter unit.

“For the engine line-up of the new Mazda5, we placed emphasis on environmental performance and fuel economy. This aim led us to use Mazda’s 2.0-liter direct-injection petrol engine with i-stop, and to replace the 2.0-liter diesel engine with a newly developed 1.6-liter turbo diesel unit that leads the class in low CO2 emission levels”, said Hideki Matsuoka, Program Manager Mazda5.

When it comes to safety, the Rondo surpass the Mazda 5 by coming with standard traction and electronic stability control systems unfortunately neither are offered on the Mazda 5.
